The Game

How does Comusic work?

1. The artist has an idea that could be:

  • Incomplete song [lyrics + melody]
  • Lyrics [full or excerpt]
  • Melody [full or excerpt]
  • Prompt [ex: a pop song that talks about the struggles of a single mother caring for an autistic child. Indirect references to the situation using a lot of poetry. I lyrical being the mother's voice]

2. The SEED creator sets his initial percentage of authorship of the song.

The platform suggests some standard percentages. The SEED creator can offer CO-AUTHORSHIP and determine the percentages owed OR can offer platform tokens in exchange for contributions. It is recommended that in cases of small contributions that do not involve what is legally considered the soul of the song [MELODY+LYRICS] tokens be offered in exchange. And in cases of major contributions involving the co-creation of LYRICS and/or MELODY, the collaborator must be leveled up to CO-AUTHOR. Nothing prevents that, in the case of extensive and laborious contributions, such as the complete REHARMONIZATION of the music, a CO-AUTHORSHIP quota is offered.

The Comusic blog will address the subject and suggest codes of best conduct for this stage of the process. But the final word rests with the creator of SEMENTE and it is up to whoever is interested in being a partner in the process to accept or reject the proposal of the creator of the SEED.

3. The project creator defines whether the process will be public or visible only to the partners. He also defines whether he will manage the project alone.

The direction consists of approving the contributions, editing the interim result and deciding when the music is ready. The possible variations of direction types are as follows:

  • Individual direction, from the creator of the seed or from a partner;
  • Collective management of partners with proportional votes, in which the partners vote for each contribution and modification in a proportional way;
  • Collective management of partners with unanimous vote, in which it is established that only unanimity decides on changes;
  • Individual direction with public participation;
  • Collective direction with public participation and votes - proportional or - unanimous decision

Although there are several ways to manage the decision-making process, the seed creator's individual direction system is recommended, as it is the most effective system and generates less friction. With audience participation or not.

4. As the participant enters a suggestion, the inputs are listed in chronological order in their window.

In the central window, only the provisional final result is visualized. The SEED creator [if he is also the project director] edits and adds the contributions.

5. When the desired result is achieved and the director(s) decide to close the process and release the song as finished,

it will be possible to review the royalty division sheet [split sheet] for the last time if participants consider it fair to change the initial contract. In this case, only the creator of the SEED, whether or not he is the director of the project, can make this change.

6. With the project finalized and the apportionment contract agreed, an NFT with all the information regarding the project is minted.

Each participant receives an NFT-COMUSIC with participants' names, name of the song, lyrics, musical score, chords and royalty division sheet in NFT format. This is not the NFT DemoTape with the first phonogram that records the first performance of the song, but rather an intelligent recording of the technical information of the song for the purpose of recording on the blockchain.

7. The author now has a detailed registry of his creation.

In addition, the entire process was registered and can be used in countless ways by the artist. As to generate collectibles, music making content, etc. This information is also used for the prestige and award system on creations and collaborations.

The registration process for the work has been completed. The processes for producing and releasing the phonogram in the NFT version are independent and will be discussed in other articles.
